Attention all Mariah Carey and Michael Jacksons!? (Ekks..)

As said in YZ today, we're gonna have our very first Garage Band Outreach Event! I guess it'll be only right if we make this first garage band a successful one. Just to reiterate what i mentioned today.

Event: Starry Starry Night
Venue: TWPC carpark (Tentage will be set up)
Date: TO BE CONFIRMED
Time: 6.30pm - 9.30pm

So obviously, we would have to have auditions since this would be a pretty large scale event. Again, if i did not explain it clearly today, would like to apologise if i made it sound candid. This is an official event ya. Ok. The following are the details of the audition.

Audition Details
Date: 20th Jan 2008 (Coming Sun)
Venue: MPH (Tentative)
Time: 2pm to 6pm
You can audition as:

• Lead Vocalist
• Backup Vocalist
• Keyboardist
• Lead Guitarist
• Rythmic Guitarist
• Bassist
• Drummer

Requirement:
Vocalists
- Present 2 songs. (Feel free to bring down the key to a comfortable one if orignal is too high)
- 1st song - your own choice of song (doesnt have to link back to the gospel)
- 2nd song - judges will select a song from the list of 3 for u to sing
- Chinese songs are allowed
- You've got a Friend (Lyrics)
- If we hold on together (Lyrics)
- The Reason (Lyrics)

Instrumentalist
- Present 2 songs. (Play the song in the orginal key/beat)
- The 2 songs will be picked at random from the list of 3
- Try to do a replication of it (listen out to the different instruments)
- All other instrumentalist audition will be accompanied by a piano except for the keyboardist (solo)
- For all you've done - Hillsongs
- Indescribable - Chris Tomlin
- Glory to the Lord - Don Moen

I've linked up all the songs already so u can access it just by 'clicking' on the title of the song/or the lyrics. Musicians, sadly, u'll have to go find your own tabs/chords/scores.

We will have another audition for those who have bands outside who wanna perform as guest bands for Starry Starry Night.

Things to note:
1) There will be 4 people assessing your performance.
2) The auditions are only for YZers.
3) It'll be a First Come First Serve Basis.

Let us not forget the main purpose of this garage band. It's an outreach event, to win the souls of our non-christian friends for our Lord. We're not looking for the best vocals or musicians and we dont expect u to be able to sing exactly like Celine Dion etc. As long as the heart is willing, and by God's grace, He'll make everyone sing beautifully. So dont be nervous, there really is no harm trying. As we have heard about this year's theme, let this be an opportunity for all of us to plunge out and serve God with the gifts He has given us. Use this opportunity to share God's love through music with those you love.
